GI Roofing Sheets
Durable and corrosion-resistant, TNR’s GI Roofing Sheets are manufactured under strict in-house quality controls to ensure reliable protection. Designed with practicality in mind, they are ideal for temporary structures such as site sheds, storage shelters, and short-term coverings.
GI (galvanised iron) roofing sheets are the classic corrugated roofing choice in Sri Lanka: light, easy to fix, and easy on the budget. TNR supplies GI sheets primarily for temporary and short-term structures such as site sheds, boundary hoardings, storage shelters, lean-to extensions, and farm coverings, where speed of installation and low cost matter more than decades of service life. Every sheet passes our in-house quality checks before it leaves the store, so you get consistent gauge, straight edges, and a uniform zinc coating across the full order.
Key Features
- Standard Lengths – Available in 6 ft, 8 ft, 10 ft, and 12 ft. Stated in Height × Length × Width order, a sheet is: corrugation profile height × 6–12 ft length × standard corrugated cover width.
- Gauge Options – Sheets are stocked in a range of thicknesses within our 0.16 mm to 0.47 mm roofing range; lighter gauges suit short-term covers, heavier gauges give extra stiffness and a longer working life.
- Galvanised Coating – A zinc coating over the steel core slows rust and keeps the sheet serviceable through sun and monsoon rain.
- Flexible Applications – Practical for temporary projects and quick installations; sheets can be cut, overlapped, and re-used across sites.
- Islandwide Delivery – Fast and reliable supply across all 25 districts.
- Trusted by Builders – Used in residential, commercial, and industrial projects nationwide.
Choosing GI for the Sri Lankan Climate
Sri Lanka's climate is hard on roofing: intense UV, heavy monsoon rainfall, and, near the coast, salt-laden air. Galvanised sheets handle inland conditions well for the temporary applications they are made for. In coastal areas such as Negombo, Wennappuwa, and Chilaw, salt air shortens the life of any galvanised product, so for permanent roofs near the sea we recommend stepping up to our Zinc Aluminium roofing sheets with AZ150 coating, which resist salt corrosion far longer. For a site shed that stands for a season or two, GI remains the sensible, economical choice anywhere on the island.
